Environmental Policy Statement

Forestrall Ltd is an independent Timber Merchant that purchases and sells Softwood,
Hardwood and Sheet Materials.

The company has implemented a Chain of Custody procedure to ensure compliance with both the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC). As part of this system it is the policy of Forestrall Ltd to avoid using wood that has been illegally harvested, wood from genetically modified trees, timber from threatened high conservation value old-growth forests and wood harvested from forests where traditional and civil rights are violated. Additionally the buying department will reject any wood-based products which derive from natural forests that have been converted to plantations.

Management will be responsible for implementing this policy and maintaining our chain of custody certification to the highest level. If it is demonstrated that the Company is using wood from such illegal sources, we will promptly take appropriate actions, including ceasing purchasing from such sources for products covered by this policy.

We will work closely with all our suppliers to encourage greater use of certified timber so that our continual improvement programme of introducing more certified products can be sustained.

On some product lines where certified material is as yet unavailable, we will continue to seek alternative sources or work with the supplying company to encourage the implementation of their own chain of custody.

Forestrall Ltd will work with our certification body to ensure that all criteria required by the FSC and the PEFC are met and that any non-conformances are corrected without delay.
